1. Coloring Function

It presents a vivid orange-yellow to orange-red color. The coloring ability is strong and stable. It does not change color when combined with potassium, zinc, calcium, etc.

2. Vitamin A Precursor Function

It is the main form of vitamin A. One molecule of β-carotene can be converted into two molecules of vitamin A.

Approximately 60-70% of vitamin A worldwide comes from β-carotene.

3. Antioxidant Function

The molecule contains multiple conjugated double bonds, which can effectively eliminate free radicals and inhibit lipid peroxidation.

It works in synergy with vitamin C and E to form an "antioxidant trinity".
